From early residences and small apartment buildings during Miami’s post-World War II boom, the firm grew during the Fifties to a position of prominence in the design of hotels, motels and shopping centers.  Major projects included the Diplomat Hotel and Country Club complex and the Carillon Hotel.

In the late Fifties, Giller & Giller, Inc. began commissions for the Federal Government with the design of Capehart Family Housing at Homestead Air Force Base (1,255 units), Patrick Air Force Base (999 units) and Key West Naval Air Station (580 units) as well as other specialized military facilities.

The Sixties brought international expansion with the opening of offices in Panama, Brazil and El Salvador.  With the U. S. State Departments Alliance for Progress, Giller & Giller, Inc. developed and designed national building programs with strong social significance. Encompassing schools, hospitals and health centers in Panama, Brazil, El Salvador, Nicaragua and Colombia, this “Diplomatic Architecture” was planned and implemented directly with the Ministers of Health, Education and Public Works and the President of these countries.

Since the Mid-Sixties, Giller & Giller, Inc. has been actively engaged in the design of corporate, institutional and governmental projects including schools, libraries, detention facilities, office buildings, banks, colleges, health care facilities, dormitories, housing and airports.

While new projects have constituted the majority of the work, adaptive re-use, historic preservation and major renovation have recently become a significant portion of the practice.

Our outstanding performance on a wide spectrum of challenging projects has resulted in “value-added” architectural and construction management services. These services have been marked by many repeat commissions from long-time clients who appreciate the aesthetically gratifying quality design, firm budget and scheduling control, and continuous personalized management of the entire project.
